Sewing
I've been meaning to drag out the sewing machine for a while now, and after reading this blog post by Kate Davies I had to have a good root through the fabric stash & have a go at making my own.
I settled on some extremely bright colours, like nothing I would ever actually wear, & got to work.
I started by cutting out a template in paper; I'd forgotten how time consuming exactly square squares could be. It's not perfectly shaped, but I did learn about shaping, & sizing, & ironing & seam allowances, and I certainly learned how to make the next one closer to what I had intended.
In spite of its flaws, it does hold pins & needles rather well.
