Gone to seed

I've noticed that as the blooms die away my fuschia plant has started to drop these little pods...

.. which look a little bit like a fruit when opened. It seems they may even be edible but I'd rather collect the pots & try grown more plants from seed next year.

PS Thank you for the lovely comments on the Frankenshawl; It was gratefully received even with a 'dye-may-run' warning. The mother also received a lesson in wearing a triangular shawl in non-traditional ways. I couldn't have her looking like an island -dweller from a century ago!
