This week we welcomed baby Alexander to the family. As a first-time real auntie I've been excitedly clicking away at the needles, but can't show off the knits because they have yet to be delivered.
The new daddy reckons Alex has long guitar player fingers...
Some knitting I can show off; last night I cast on for a simple shawl using some yarn I spun up during the Tour de Fleece earlier this year. It's mostly stocking stitch with a few rows of textured pattern for interest; I'm firmly of the belief that mutitcoloured yarn is best used in simple stitches.
I also have some stash enhancement to share; Pure Cashmere lace from Hedgehog Fibres in 'Ink' colourway. I had recently decided that I was going to try and cut down on the yarn stash but this just called to me. The lovely rich blue colours are so vibrant, and the cashmere fibre so soft... mmmm
