Finished Object - handspun cowl
I've recently handed over this gift to its recipient, so feel safe to post online.
The fibre is bluefaced leicester from Hedgehog Fibres. If I remember rightly, I think I split the fibre lengthways, spun two singles & then plied together in an attempt to keep the colour progression. The finished yarn was between fingering weight & a light DK weight.
The pattern was made up; using a 3.5 mm needle, I cast on 114 stitches.
At first, I considered a mistake rib stitch, but then realised that that stocking stitch would best suit the colour of the yarn. I continued to knit until I had almost run out of yarn.
It's quite soft, & hopefully cosy, even if the weather has recently turned warmer!
